Paul Haber, Mario Sammut, Jennings Falzon and Matthew Galea have been accepted to
exhibit their work at the European Ceramic Context 2010. The Context forms part of a
biennial symposium for European contemporary ceramics and glass on the island of
Bornholm in Denmark.
Through comprehensive exhibitions, workshops, master classes, lectures and an artist
in residence programme, the best of contemporary European ceramics will be presented.
All members of the European Union as well as Iceland, Norway and Switzerland will be
participating. The work of 110 artists will be presented in the exhibitions.
The exhibitions are two: European Ceramic Art for work made by professional and
established artists within the field of ceramic art in which Haber and Sammut will
be participating, and New Talent, for emerging professional ceramic artists under the
age of 35 in which Falzon and Galea will be participating. The exhibitions will be
shown at Bornholms Art Museum and Grønbechs Gård between September and November 2010.
Participation by Maltese ceramists in this event is being co-ordinated by the Malta
Council for Culture and the Arts.
Family by Mario Sammut will be one of the pieces exhibited at the ECC2010.
